Gallipoli is connected to the mainland with a causeway, and is buzzing in summer, with traditional restaurants, bars and ice cream shops, beautiful views from the city walls, and a quaint, beautiful old town to wander around. Otranto also has an old town, where you’ll find the historic Cathedral with it’s famous mosaic floor. Lecce is the main city, and is filled with fantastic wine bars, baroque architecture, pavement cafes and the fabulous square - Piazza Duomo. It’s friendly, bustling, and limited traffic render it a pleasure to stroll around.

Whilst La Casa Dei Ricordi does not have a pool over the years the owners have become close friends with the owners and staff at Tenuata Mosè. Tenuata Mosè is an ancient house restored to the original beauty with hectares of vineyards and corners of paradise make Tenuta Mosè. We would strongly recommend dining here, the chances are you will not leave once you have sampled the authentic Italian cuisine and the wine from the Tenuatas' vineyard. The Tenuta is 10 minutes away by car, The gardens & pool where you can relax are open to the guests of La Casa dei Ricordi for a price of €50 euros pp.

Relax
You can’t visit either Gallipoli or Otranto without visiting the beautiful sandy beaches, with crystal clear turquoise waters. Both have beautiful coastlines, but Zeus beach in Gallipoli is very friendly and a great one to visit. Beach clubs are also popular, including Lido Zen in Gallipoli, and Puja Beach Club in Otranto. Alimini beach is more natural, and you can’t miss the famous Rocca Vecchia - a rocky coastal spot with a natural pool at the bottom of the cliffs that you can jump into.
